English as a Second Language (ESL)

The language barrier for our refugee families impedes success in building a new life in the United States. From navigating public transportation, to communicating with teachers, to finding employment, everyday tasks can be insurmountable.

In our ESL program, daily classes are offered to adult women through one-on-one instruction. Individualized curriculum includes English language instruction and general life skills required to navigate everyday situations. Supplementary classes on topics such as school/home tech-connection, U.S. citizenship, and obtaining a driver’s license are also held during the year. Free childcare is provided.
